EV Battery Certification
We carry out an independent assessment of the traction battery's state of health (SoH) in electric (BEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) cars and issue a battery condition certificate to the CARA Approved® standard.
“We don't just read what the car reports — we can verify it and repair it.”
Independent assessor
Certificate to the CARA Approved® standard
We issue the certificate using an industry-accredited method bearing the CARA Approved® mark — a recognised, independent standard for assessing traction-battery condition. This guarantees the result is not our subjective opinion but a repeatable measurement following an independent assessor's methodology.
- Independent, industry method — CARA Approved® mark
- Repeatable, objective result — not a workshop's opinion
- Document recognised in sales, import and remarketing
We work on two levels
From a fast certificate to real measurement and repair
Level 1
Condition certificate (fast)
SoH measurement based on data from the battery management system (BMS) via the OBD port, using the accredited CARA Approved® method. A result in minutes and a report ready on the spot — ideal when selling or buying a car.
- Result in a few minutes
- PDF report + online version with QR code
- Accredited method — CARA Approved®
Level 2
Independent and corrective diagnostics
Measurement at module and cell level, load analysis and diagnostics of the entire high-voltage (HV) system. When a Level 1 certificate shows an anomaly, we verify it with a real measurement and can repair it — module regeneration or replacement.
- Module and cell measurement under load
- HV system diagnostics (EVDiag, Benning meters)
- SEP G1 (E/D) qualifications and Bosch HV certificate
How we do it
The process step by step
Vehicle identification
VIN read-out and matching to the model database — we determine the pack type and reference point.
SoH measurement
OBD connection and read-out of battery parameters from the BMS using the accredited CARA Approved® method.
Analysis
SoH in %, real capacity, module/cell voltages and balance, temperature, deviation detection and comparison to the model benchmark.
Certificate
A PDF report plus an online version with a QR verification code to confirm authenticity.
In-depth diagnostics / repair (optional)
When the result needs verification or intervention — module- and cell-level measurement, repair or replacement.
What the certificate includes
Substance, not marketing
- Vehicle data — make, model, VIN, year, mileage, type (BEV/PHEV)
- SoH indicator (%) — battery state of health
- Real available capacity (kWh) and estimated real range
- Module/cell balance and condition — voltages and deviations
- Pack temperature and status
- Comparison to typical condition for the model, age and mileage (benchmark)
- Test date, measurement method and assessor ID
- QR verification code — check authenticity online

Who it's for
Who benefits from a battery certificate
Used-car lots & EV/PHEV dealers
A certificate as a sales tool — greater buyer trust and less haggling over the “unknown” that is the battery.
EV importers
A certificate as a standard attached to the imported car — a differentiator versus offers without battery verification.
Buyers — pre-purchase (PPI)
An independent assessment of the car you want to buy. Don't buy a used EV blind.
EV/PHEV owners
Battery health checks, verification before the warranty ends and peace of mind about the car's most expensive part.
Leasing, fleets, remarketing
SoH assessment on returns and resale — managing the vehicle's residual value.
Appraisers & insurers
A technical document for valuations, claims and disputes over battery condition.
Benefits
Value for both sides of the deal
For the seller
- A car with a certificate sells faster and inspires greater trust.
- An objective argument in price negotiations — the battery stops being an “unknown”.
- Your listing stands out against cars with no verification.
For the buyer
- Certainty about the car's most expensive part (the battery is often 30–40% of an EV's value).
- An independent assessment — you don't rely solely on the seller's word or the car's raw read-out.
- Protection against a costly buying mistake.
Method & credibility
Independence backed by a standard, equipment and qualifications
SoH is valid as of the measurement date — the battery is a wear item, and the certificate reflects its condition on the day of testing and is not a guarantee for the future. A Level 1 certificate is based on the vehicle's BMS data using the accredited CARA Approved® method; a full independent measurement under load is Level 2.

How does the fast certificate differ from in-depth diagnostics?
The condition certificate (Level 1) is based on BMS data read via OBD using the accredited CARA Approved® method — the result is ready on the spot. Independent diagnostics (Level 2) means module- and cell-level measurement, load analysis and testing of the entire high-voltage system. Level 1 is a fast assessment; full independence is Level 2.
How much does the certificate cost and what's included?
The battery condition certificate (SoH) to the CARA Approved® standard costs PLN 400 per vehicle — you receive a PDF report and an online version with a QR code. In-depth diagnostics (Level 2) and any repair are quoted individually.
Is the test on-site or mobile?
Both. You can visit our workshop in Katowice or order the mobile service — we come to the dealership, used-car lot or customer, which works especially well for several cars at once.
Is the certificate valid indefinitely?
No. The battery is a wear item, so the certificate reflects its condition on the measurement date and is not a guarantee of future condition. When selling a car, it's best to keep the test as recent as possible.
What if the measurement detects an anomaly?
Then Level 2 steps in — we verify the read-out with a real module- and cell-level measurement, locate the problem and, where justified, repair it (module regeneration or replacement). We don't just read what the car reports — we can verify it and repair it.
Which vehicles do you test?
Fully electric cars (BEV) and plug-in hybrids (PHEV) — including Tesla, BMW i, Audi, Volkswagen, Mercedes EQ and others. We confirm exact model coverage when booking.
